Akankah VK mampu menandingi Facebook?
Jika bicara situs jejaring social dan pertemanan online, situs pertama yang terpikirkan oleh kita adalah Facebook. Bicara fenomena situs pertemanan berarti bicara tentang Facebook. Hal tersebut tidak lain adalah karena pertumbuhan pengguna Facebook yang luar biasa, Pengguna Facebook tidak hanya untk personal / pribadi, tapi juga lembaga, organisasi, program, business, dan lain-lain yang terus berkembang dengan cepat. Bisa dikatakan yang tidak punya akun Facebook sama dengan “gaptek” dan gak gaul.
Fenomena Facebook tersebut membuat banyak orang yang membuat situs atau layanan serupa, beberapa diantaranya adalah Indoface (Situs pertemanan online Indonesia), Peoplestring (Situs pertemanan online yang memiliki system bagi hasil keuntungan kepada membernya), VK (Situs pertemanan online dari Rusia), dll.
Tentang VK
Diantara ketiga situs tersebut, yang sangat mirip dengan Facebook adalah VK – Social Network XXI Century, begitulah visi dan slogan VK. Banyak sekali fitur-fitur VK yang mirip dengan Facebook dan VK juga memiliki fitur yang tidak ada di Facebook, diantaranya:
- Tampilan sederhana dan tidak terlalu banyak gambar
- Post foto, video, lagu, di dinding /wall teman.
- Pencarian lebih detail
- Bisa dengar lagu streaming dan download
- Koleksi video banyak
- Beraneka aplikasi, game online, TV, radio, dll
- Navigasi yang mudah
- VK lebih cepat loading-nya dibanding Facebook
Tetapi di VK gak ada fasilitas chatting, atau mungkin belum kali ya?! atau mungkin gak keliatan ama saya

). Ditambah lagi VK cukup gencar melakukan promosi, salah satunya dengan mengadakan kontes yang berhadiah 40 unit Apple iPod Nano® untuk 40 orang pemenang (berakhir tanggal 20 Februari 2010).
Dalam persaingan, yang terbaiklah yang akan menang. Dari sekian banyak situs-situs social network yang ada, untuk sekarang Facebook adalah pemenangnya. Namun yang namanya dinamika persaingan dan trend pasti selalu berubah, sekarang di atas besok bisa jadi di bawah.
Untuk kasus persaingan situs social network, beberapa faktor yang menjadi tolak ukur sebuah situs menjadi idola dan digunakan banyak orang adalah: fasilitas / fitur yang menarik, bagus, gampang digunakan, lengkap dan bisa memenuhi kebutuhan member. Dengan begini, situs / layanan tersebut akan menjadi pemenang dalam persaingan. Yups, it’s Facebook!

Saya pribadi masih belum pernah denger soal VK ini, tapi menurut saya strategi dia untuk terlihat “mirip” dengan FB merupakan strategi yang salah. Dia seharusnya menonjolkan apa yg membuat dia “berbeda” dgn FB, bukannya menjadi mee-too product.
Tapi itu hanya analisa saya yang masih awam sih. Mari kita lihat saja perkembangan trend Social Networking ini. Btw, mgkn sekali-kali boleh coba dibahas bagaimana peluang Google Wave dalam persaingan jaringan sosial ini.

The only option I see is if you ask the person to take it down. I’m assuming it’s a friend or someone that you know that put it up, just ask them nicely. Say something like, “I really don’t like that picture of me that you put up, can you please take it down?” If they really see that you don’t want it up, they might be nice enough to take it down.

I personally do not search that often anymore. When I need something I ask. I usually get many answers and they’re all relevant to me. Pengguna Facebook tidak hanya untk personal has been well shown in the blog while there are better view to be taken care of.
It is only showing the friends in your network. For some reason on Facebook in order to see all of your friends you have to click “view all friends,” then I separate page will come up showing all your friends.
I do hope it’ll come with a claxon and doors that will automatically fall off, as some clown will by one I’m sure.
